ZIMCHE Accreditation Visit
The Zimbabwe Council for Higher Education (ZIMCHE) yesterday (25 July, 2017) visited Solusi University for a programmes accreditation exercise.
The ZIMCHE team which was led by Dr. A. M. Tirivangani applauded Solusi for its initiative to introduce new programmes as a way of attracting new students and at the same time being competitive in the Education fraternity.
“I wish to take this time to congratulate you for such an initiative. It shows that you are growing as a University and that you have positive projections for your students to be competitive graduates when they leave Solusi,” said Dr. Tirivangani
Four programmes have been submitted to ZIMCHE for accreditation which are; BSc Management information Systems Honors, BSc Nutrition Honors, BSc Nursing Honors and BA Early Childhood Education.
In his response, the Vice-Chancellor for Solusi University Prof. Joel Musvosvi promised to cooperate with ZIMCHE and to see to it that the University complies with the education standards of Zimbabwe.
“As a university, we will look into the areas that need to be corrected. I promise you that we will be calling you back soon to review the programmes. We have always complied with ZIMCHE, followed the standards and also paid our dues on time,” said Prof. Musvosvi.
Dr. Tirivangani also highlighted that the relationship between Solusi University and ZIMCHE has always been a good one.
“We have all become part of the assessment team. Your sitting here with us today has made big contribution to the accreditation of these programmes. Whatever we are going to come up with is our product and we should be proud of it. I would want a situation in which ZIMCHE will only come to Solusi for a courtesy visit and not to talk about programmes.”
Accompanying Dr. Tirivangani was Mr. O. Mabika (ZIMCHE), Dr. Prosper Chopera (UZ), Ms. K. Shoko (ZIMCHE), Dr. Chaibva (MSU), Dr. Mguwe (NUST), Mr. Chirumani (UZ) and Ms. Manyasha (Alied)
