1. VICE CHANCELLOR
Solusi University invites applications from suitably qualified Adventist Professionals/ Academics for the post of Vice Chancellor. The institution was established in 1894 and is governed by the University Council in accordance with ZIMCHE and AAA provisions.

The vision of the University is to be a leading institution for academic excellence and innovations in the academic world. The mission of the University is to provide quality wholistic and transformational education based on the Seventh-day Adventist Church philosophy of Education in order to equip students for useful service to God and the community, and for productive lives.

To fulfil its vision and mission, Solusi University wishes to fill the position of Vice Chancellor. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Adventists to fill the vacancy.

The Vice Chancellor reports to the University Council.

Roles of the Vice Chancellor

  1. Be responsible for the academic, administrative and financial affairs of the University.
  2. In the absence of the Chancellor, preside at the ceremonial assemblies of the university and confer degrees and other academic titles and distinction of the University

Duties and Responsibilities of the Vice Chancellor
The Vice Chancellor Shall

  1. Provide academic, administrative and financial leadership to the University and as such shall be responsible to the University Council for maintaining and promotion of the University policies, plans and programmes.
  2. Ensure that the strategic plan of the University is implemented and monitored.
  3. Provide leadership in mobilising resources necessary for the implementation of the University policies, plans and programmes.
  4. Chair meetings of University Senate.
  5. Take lead in advocacy for the University and its strategic interest through active engagement with government, the community , internal and external stakeholders
  6. Ensure optimal utilisation of available resources, good governance, transparency and accountability.
  7. Monitor performance and appraisal of senior managers of the University to ensure that the vision and mission of the University are fulfilled.
  8. Promote cooperation, image and reputation of the University nationally and globally.
  9. Represent the University in relevant fora in order to promote an understanding of the University’s mission and strategic interests.
  10. Regularly report to the University Council and Chancellor on all matters pertaining to the University.
  11. Performs any other duties as may be assigned by the University Council.

Eligibility Criteria
The Candidate should have the following:

  1. An earned PhD / academic doctorate from a recognised academic institution.
  2. Be more than 40 years and below 65 years of age at the time of application.
  3. Has been a professor for not less than 5 years.
  4. Has been a Pro-Vice Chancellor for not less than 3 years
  5. At least ten years working experience at Senior Management position, four of which must have been served at the minimum level of Dean of School/Faculty or its equivalent in a reputable public or private institution with excellent track record in management, leadership and building winning teams.
  6. Be a dynamic, distinguished and internationally renowned scholar who demonstrates academic excellence in terms of quality of publications, teaching and credible community service.
  7. Must be a practising Adventist with a fair appreciation of Adventist philosophy of education, previous practice at administrative level in Adventist institutions of higher learning will be an added advantage
  8. Be a man/ woman of unassailable transparency, honesty and integrity, who can make decisions on merit of facts with the fear of God, and not on the basis of parochial interests or primordial pressure.
  9. Proven/ demonstrated high level of experience in networking, resource mobilisation and preparation of grant proposals. He/ She should have knowledge and proven experience in engaging with International Development partners.
  10. Proven experience in performance management in a reputable public or private institution.
  11. Proven experience in national, regional and/or international policy development in higher education.
  12. Thorough knowledge of the structural, legislative, and regulatory frame work for management of higher education in Zimbabwe
  13. Good knowledge of public financial management and strategic planning.

Remuneration
A commensurate attractive package and other benefits in accordance with the University Terms of Service.

2. REGISTRAR
Solusi University invites applications from suitably qualified Adventist Professionals/ Academics for the post of registrar. The institution was established in 1894 and is governed by the University Council in accordance with ZIMCHE and AAA provisions. The university is searching for a dynamic individual to join the top management of the Solusi University and with capacity to steer the institution to contemporary international acclaimed academic excellence.

The vision of the University is to be a leading institution for academic excellence and innovations in the academic world. The mission of the University is to provide quality wholistic and transformational education based on the Seventh-day Adventist church philosophy of Education in order to equip students for useful service to God and the community, and for productive lives.

To fulfil its vision and mission, Solusi University wishes to recruit for the Registrar’s post. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Adventists to fill the vacancy. Preference will be given to applicants possessing experience in modern management practises, proven leadership skills, creative and innovative approaches to problem solving, competency in English and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The Registrar is responsible to the Pro-Vice Chancellor.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Registrar
The Registrar shall be responsible for the admissions of students, immigration arrangements, examinations, and the academic record-keeping processes, and shall perform such other func­tions as may be specified in the Stat­utes.

Eligibility Criteria
The Candidate should have the following:

  1. A Master’s degree in administration or human resources management or related field. A PhD / academic doctorate from a recognised academic institution will be an added advantage.
  2. Be more than 40 years and below 65 years of age at the time of application.
  3. Must be a practising Adventist with a fair appreciation of Adventist philosophy of education, previous practise at administrative level in Adventist institutions of higher learning will be an added advantage
  4. At least ten years working experience at Senior Management position, four of which must have been served at the minimum level of administrator in a reputable public or private institution with excellent track record in management, leadership and building winning teams.
  5. High level of integrity, be a team player with excellent relations and communication skills.
  6. Proven experience in performance management in a reputable public or private institution.
  7. An appreciation of national, regional and/or international policy development in higher education.
  8. Thorough knowledge of the structural, legislative, and regulatory frame work for management of higher education in Zimbabwe.

3. DIRECTOR FOR FINANCIAL ADMINISTRATION (DFA)
Solusi University invites applications from suitably qualified Adventist Professionals for the post of DFA. The institution was established in 1894 and is governed by the University Council in accordance with ZIMCHE and ACCA provisions. The university is searching for a dynamic individual to join the top management of the Solusi University and with capacity to provide leadership in financial management. The vision of the University is to be a leading institution for academic excellence and innovations in the academic world. The mission of the University is to provide quality wholistic and transformational education based on the Seventh-day Adventist church philosophy of Education in order to equip students for useful service to God and the community, and for productive lives.

To fulfil its vision and mission, Solusi University wishes to recruit for the DFA post. Applications are therefore invited from suitably qualified Adventist to fill the vacancy. Preference will be given to applicants possessing experience in modern financial management practises, proven leadership skills, creative and innovative approaches to problem solving, competency in ICT, and excellent interpersonal and communication skills.

The DFA is responsible to the Vice Chancellor.

Duties and Responsibilities of the Director for Financial Administration 
The Director of Financial Administration shall be the Chief Financial Officer (CFO) of the University. He/ she shall be responsible for the safeguarding of the University funds and, in accordance with the general direction of the Vice Chancellor, for authorising its prudent investments and expenditure.

Eligibility Criteria
The Candidate should have the following:

  1. A Master’s degree in finance or accounting and recognised professional qualification such as ACCA, CIMA etc. A PhD / academic doctorate from a recognised academic institution will be an added advantage.
  2. Demonstrable post qualification experience.
