Solusi University Establishes Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research Development
Solusi University has established the Faculty of Graduate Studies and Research Development in her effort to strengthen the existing graduate programs develop new ones as well as delve into research problems with meaningful outputs. With this development Professor Samuel A. Awoniyi has been appointed as Director of Graduate Studies and Research Development. He was until his present appointment the Director for Quality Assurance of the University.
Prof. Samuel Awoniyi holds a Bachelor of Science (B.Sc Hons) degree in Biology, a Postgraduate Diploma in Education (PGDE), Master of Education (M.Ed) in Educational Research Measurement and Evaluation and Doctor of Philosophy (Ph.D) in Educational Research Measurement and Evaluation from University of Ilorin, Nigeria. As an experienced academician, he served as Chief Lecturer, Head of Department, Dean School of Education, Director Institute of Higher Education, Director Academic Programme, Deputy Provost, and Acting Provost at the College of Education (Special), Lafiagi, Kwara State, Nigeria between 1993 and 2007. He also served as Senior Lecturer at the University of Eastern Africa Baraton, Kenya between 2004 and 2005.
He joined Solusi University, Zimbabwe in October 2007 and served as Research Director, Director Graduate Studies- Education and Director Quality Assurance before the present appointment. He has published a number of Articles in referred Journals and has presented papers in National and International Conferences /Workshops. He is an author and Editor of books, external editor for a number of Journals as well as external examiner for universities.
His desire is that of empowering the graduate students to delve into research problems that can have global impact and local relevance thus impacting society for positive change through the pervading influence of Solusi University graduates.
