Admission Requirements

Solusi University is committed to equal opportunity and does not discriminate against qualified persons on the basis of race, colour, or national and ethnic origin in its educational and admission policies. Since Solusi University is sponsored, financed and operated by the Seventh-Day Adventist Church, it has a special responsibility to serve its constituency, and the majority of its students who are members of the Adventist Church. However, the admission of students is not limited to a Seventh-Day Adventist applicant, and students who meet the academic and character requirements of the University and expresses willingness to cooperate with the University policies may be admitted.

Admission is a privilege, not a right and may be withheld or withdrawn by the University when students' presence is deemed detrimental to the basic mission and function of the University.

Formal application for admission to the University is required on a form supplied from the Office of the Registrar. The chief factors considered by the Admissions Committee are scholastic achievement, moral character, financial support, and good health. The application for supplied makes provision for all of these factors and should be completed if full, and submitted together with a certified copy of the applicant's secondary school certificates and necessary recommendations.

It should be noted that all documents submitted to complete this application for admission become the property of Solusi University and are not returnable or transferable to another institution. Therefore, it is important to submit certified copies of original documents. Such documents are always subject to verification and at the time fo first registration; original documents must be presented to the registrar.

Regular Undergraduate Admission

Applicants from Zimbabwe must:

Have satisfied the General Requirement of Five 'O' Levels passed with C or better.

Have, as one of the five credits obtained, a credit in English language at the O-level (or its approved equivalent), and Have two 'A' Level subjects passed with a minimum symbol of 'E'. Have satisfied additional course requirements prescribed for entry to the particular degree programme chosen.

Students from other countries may be admitted if they hold either comparable certification or University Admission status in their own country, or by joining the Pre-University Programme at Solusi if they have satisfied the general Requirements of credits in five subjects, including English. Provisional Admission Status for International & Mature Age Students.

The Regional nature of Solusi University should be recognised. The International students who have applied completed their secondary education in a country where A-level courses are not available are expected to fulfill those countries university entrance requirements as well as complete the Solusi University pre-university requirements. Students applying for Solusi mature Age Entrance are expected to sit for a Solusi Mature age Examination.To qualify for the mature age examination, students are expected to fulfill the following conditions:

Have passed a minimum of four approved subjects, including English Language and Mathematics at O-Level for Business; and English Language or other areas in Arts.

Not be less than 25 years of at the date of begining provisional status. Have relavant experience and/or evidence of further studies since competion of O-Level.
