According to accounts passed down by early Adventists, two angels were seen at Solusi Mission in 1902
In one of the days when Sturdevant was serving in the shop, he saw two angels in the form of girls. What happened when he encountered these girls in the shop was similar to what happened on his first encounter with them in his cornfield in Alabama. These girls vanished from his presence back in Alabama in America and in the shop at Solusi.
The late 19th century was a time of great missionary expansion for the Seventh-day Adventist Church in Africa. One of the most significant milestones was the establishment of Solusi Mission in present-day Zimbabwe in 1894. It was the first Adventist mission station on the African continent, and its founding was marked by numerous challenges, including language barriers, disease, and resistance from local communities. However, amidst these struggles, an extraordinary event reportedly took place—one that has been passed down in Adventist history as the sighting of two angels at Solusi.
In the early 1890s, the Seventh-day Adventist Church sought to establish a mission in Matabeleland, then part of the British South Africa Company’s territory.
