Dr Ndatenda Irene Mudenge (MD)
May 2025 SOLUSI UNIVERSITY: Alumni in Action
The medical journey does not always begin at medical school. From 2008 to
2012, Ndatenda Irene Mudenge was reading for a BSc in Family &
Consumer Science, and she graduated from Solusi University in March
2013. How she landed at Solusi University was an off-shoot from a love story,
in a car. Her aunt, Vongai Guti, and her then boyfriend, Tawana Mhoswa,
started singing a Praise Symphony song while in the car. Ndatenda was at the
high school then, and it was not too early for her to populate her bucket list.
“I was like, where is this from… then they mentioned how they were both in
Praise Symphony (a singing group, founded in 1992 at the then Solusi
College)…And I was like, I am going to go to Solusi, sing in Praise Symphony,
and marry a bass singer.” And so, she came to Solusi, as planned, sang in Praise
Symphony- but married a tone-deaf, Dr N Macheka (currently specialising as a
General Surgeon), in 2022. The couple shares a passion for medicine. Their
2022 union was blessed with the beloved son, on the 30 of June in 2023. She
ultimately checked Symphony, a (non) singing husband, and added medicine. Click to continue reading
