Campus Life

Your home away from home, Solusi University offers students, faculty and staff a natural environment away from the hustle and bustle of city life, and a wide variety of services, to cater for the social, spiritual, and physical needs.

Social Life

There are a lot of opportunities for your social life at Solusi University, from joining different clubs or groups to getting involved in sports or just hanging out with new people. University life is not all about academics.

Meals

You will get your plate filled with colour. Fruit and especially vegetables are packed with fibre to fill you up and nutrients to keep you looking and feeling great. The brown, white and beige foods usually have fewer nutrients and more kilojoules.

High-fibre foods to fill you up such as fresh fruit, fruit salad, vegetables, beans, pasta, porridge, wholesome bread.

Activities

University life involves a bit of walking and a lot of sitting:

  1. In lectures,
  2. In the library, and
  3. Studying in your room

Sport to make you move that body is a necessity.

Keep active – regular exercise will help you:
  1. sleep better,
  2. study better,
  3. look better, and
  4. feel better.

Married Students

Since the married students can bring their immediate families when they come to Solusi University, the University will avail a one or two bedroomed apartment which include a sitting room combined with the kitchen. The apartments are available for occupancy for no less than two semesters, and preference is given to those planning to stay longer.

Most apartments are furnished with a table, beds, mattresses, chairs, a two-plate electric cooker, a bookshelf, a chest of drawers, a wardrobe, a rake, a hoe, an axe and a slasher.

Tips for “freshermen”

University is a big step up from high school. There’s less structure and routine. You may have a heavy workload yet it’s entirely up to you to work out how and when you will get through it all. If you are also living away from home for the first time, the stress can be even greater through having to cope on your own as well as the very normal feeling of homesickness. Stress weakens your immune system making you more prone to sickness. Eating well helps keep your immune system strong.

Home sickness

As a fresherman try to keep in touch frequently (every day if necessary) with your family. Remember, the people you have left at home will be missing you, too.

  1. semester.
  2. Sometimes loneliness is not the absence of people but the absence of purpose. Write down your purpose or goal and remind yourself of it each day.
Engaging in some Activity
  1. Do something to help others — it takes your mind off yourself and how you are feeling.
  2. Keep busy with extra activities, not just study.
  3. Join a group or club for plenty of social contact and a sense of belonging.
  4. Organise some events to look forward to, spread out through the semester.
  5. Sometimes loneliness is not the absence of people but the absence of purpose. Write down your purpose or goal and remind yourself of it each day.
